Chinaberry pen blanks are cut from Chinaberry (Melia azedarach), a semi-exotic hardwood found throughout many US states, though not native to this country.
Nominal dimensions: 5"x.75"x.75".
Relatively easy to work with, it has wonderful grain patterns and contrast, giving it a great finished look in custom turned pens. The wood is soft, with open pores, allowing for either a more rustic finish, or when filled, will allow smooth finishes and/or additional color to be introduced into your designs.
